Too Cool for School

Costume National Autumn/Winter 2015 Campaign

What do you get if you shoot a black and white campaign with a rock and roll vibe? One that’s going to catch my eye that’s for sure!  And Costume National’s advertisements for autumn/winter 2015 certainly did that.

Featuring American model Leila Goldkuhl and shot by British photographer Glen Luchford, the campaign showcases all the elements that appeal to my fashion sensibility – androgyny, tailoring, a slim silhouette and ‘too cool for school’ styling.

Costume National’s forthcoming collection first caught my eye back in the spring, when a shot of a moodboard backstage at the label’s Milan show appeared online. The company is now some 30 years old, and in recent years had fallen from my radar.  But this autumn/winter season, with a collection the designer Ennio Capasa dubbed ‘Reset’, sees the brand return to its minimalist roots, and firmly back into my fashion fold.
