Wardrobe Secrets

British Vogue’s new series of ‘Inside the Wardrobe’ kicked off last week, when contributing editor Bay Garnett met with Caroline de Maigret.

A firm fixture on the fashion scene, the model and music producer regularly appears in magazine editorials and is also a street style favourite, given her unique blend of nonchalant cool and sexy rock chic style.

And despite being dubbed ‘How to Get French Style’, what struck me most about the video was how well she knows herself and what suits her. Rather than a lesson in Parisian chic, it was a reminder that knowing ourselves and our bodies are the most important steps towards achieving that perfect wardrobe.

If there was a blacker colour than black, then I’d wear it.

As a lover of layering, this ‘Neo Japonaise’ story featured in the December issue of Cover Denmark hit my soft spot.

Shot by Philip Messman and styled by Marcus Soder, model Annely Bouma sports a mixture of delicate, sumptuous and textured pieces, cleverly combined with flashes of colour to create some great shapes and silhouettes.

High St Magazine – Issue 8

“Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken”, is a favourite quote of mine, usually attributed to Oscar Wilde. And while in this age of increasing fashion democracy we have more opportunity than ever to embrace our individuality, many of us still seem to prefer the comfort of conformity.
