Monochrome looks, modelled here by Adrienne Jüliger, are a recurring theme for magazine shoots, reflecting our love of simple black and white style. But in this ‘Belle De Jour’ story for Vogue Paris’s April 2016 issue, fashion editor Véronique Didry takes a fresh approach to a familiar favourite.
Shot by photographer Claudia Knoepfel, Adrienne, who you may recognise as the new face of DKNY, sports several two-tone looks, but it’s those images that have been styled in a sort of game of fashion role reversal that particularly caught my eye.
In this picture below, it’s perhaps surprising to see sheer black stockings and shiny black patent shoes paired with crisp white trousers…
And here, a white Céline Box Bag and leather ‘v-neck’ shoes have been used to accessorise an all black outfit…
Simple styling ideas for rethinking our own black and white wardrobes.
