The Stranger

This haunting black and white video titled ‘The Stranger’ was produced for Dazed Korea to accompany a fashion shoot of the same name. Featuring Serbian model Mina Cvetkovic and styled by Sung Hee Kim, the short film showcases pieces from the spring/summer collections.

Still loving those Calvin Klein body chains…..

Mario Testino: No Limits

Kate Moss

Kate Moss / British Vogue / 2008

If you’re lucky enough to live in or near Copenhagen, or are planning a visit over the summer, then if you’re a fashion lover, Mario Testino’s ‘No Limits’ exhibition is a must-see.

Staged at the city’s GL STRAND until 18th September, the celebrated photographer’s work is being shown across three floors, highlighting three distinct themes across his vast body of work: high fashion imagery, nudes and royal portraiture.

There is also the chance to see a short film featuring the man himself, in conversation with filmmaker Jesse Dylan, where he talks about his life, work and many famous, and infamous, subjects.

And although the exhibition was specially conceived for Copenhagen, a city much admired by Mario Testino for its sense of freedom, I for one hope that it will travel closer to home.

Peter Lindbergh x Vogue Italia

Peter Lindbergh x Vogue Italia | MODE+MAISON

This captivating collection of photographs was shot, unmistakably, by Peter Lindbergh. The German photographer’s cinematic, typically black and white style is a favourite of fashion editors and brands alike, and these elegant images of Italian model Mariacarla Boscono were published in last month’s Haute Couture issue of Vogue Italia…

If you’re a fan of Peter Lindbergh’s work, I can recommend this beautiful book (here) which graces my own (groaning) coffee table.

Welcome to the Jungle

Welcome to the Jungle | MODE+MAISON

This regram from Maison Margiela’s Instagram feed literally took my breath away. And I was more than surprised to learn that the model featured is Hedi Slimane favourite Grace Hartzel.  With her shock of short, sharply cut black hair and silver nose ring, the former Saint Laurent muse is almost unrecognisable.

The incredible styling is the work of fashion editor and celebrated stylist Camilla Nickerson, and the image is part of the ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ story that features in US Vogue’s April 2016 issue, shot beautifully by Mikael Jansson.

Guinevere van Seenus’s modelling career began back in the mid-90’s, and from these stunning images it’s easy to see why she’s still so much in demand today…

Shot by photographers Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello for Harper’s Bazaar Japan’s April 2016 issue, make-up artist Rie Omoto allows the American model’s milky skin and flawless features to shine through.  A beautiful collection of timeless portraits.

Insta-Fashion

Cleverly playing with the concept of the Insta-Grid, this shoot for the Spring/Summer 2016 edition of Flair magazine features one of my favourite models, Jamie Bochert.

The fractured images, photographed by Ezra Petronio and styled by Sissy Vian, are a stark reminder of the impact of social media on the fashion industry, and how it has changed the way we view, and consume, clothing.

Alice is a Punk

These arresting images of model Alice Metza come hot on the heels of my ode to the fishnet (here).

Featured in the spring/summer 2016 edition of Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book, the Los Angeles native has been styled by Carine herself for this dramatic shoot, which is a clever combination of punk, tribal and heritage influences.

And credit must go to the hair and make-up team, Didier Malige and Isamaya French, too.  Quite stunning.
