En Vacances!

It’s that time of the year when the beautiful South of France beckons, so I’m heading off on holiday for a couple of weeks to soak up some St Tropez sun.

I’ll be taking a break from my blog while I’m away, but if you head over to Instagram I’ll be posting from there.  Follow me @julieehurst.

À bientôt.

Blue Sky Thinking

What does a summer holiday mean to you? A chance to explore far flung places? Time to take up a new activity or extreme sport?  Or beaches, sunbathing and books?

I’ve just returned from what has now become an annual trip to the south of France. It’s my perfect summer escape.  I love the warm weather, tranquil setting of our resort, and the fact that we are only a day trip away from cities such as Nice, Cannes and Monte Carlo.  But perhaps most of all, I love the fact that it gives me space to think.

While for most people, January is the time for resolutions and starting afresh, for me post holiday is my new year.  I always return from St Tropez with a list of ‘To Do’s, and rather than suffering from post holiday blues, I actually look forward to returning home and putting my plans into action!

I also find that in between our fun in the sun, I manage to complete those work projects that always seem to get pushed to the bottom of my in tray.  It may sound strange, and perhaps to some rather sad, but sitting under the palm trees, with nothing else to think about other than what I might fancy to eat or drink, I seem to accomplish so much.  And I’m not alone here.  My sister does the same!

However, I am conscious that despite how productive my two weeks in France may be, from a practical point of view I do need to try and carve out time in my weekly schedule to tackle some of these projects.   Or, perhaps I just need to consider relocating to the south of France?  Hmm…

I’m off on holiday tomorrow and can’t wait!  I’m looking forward to some much needed R&R, and a chance to recharge my batteries under the St Tropez sun…

So, I’ll be taking a break from my blog for a few weeks, but I’ll still be tweeting and pinning.  I can’t give up social media completely!

You can follow me here and here, and on Instagram here.

A bientôt!
